  Service With a difference

Rotary has only few official languages. Rotary literature is
officially made available in only these. But Rotary works in
countries and regions with more than 400 languages or dialects.
Making Rotary literature available in all these will be Herculean
task for Rotary International. Only voluntary efforts of Rotarians
to translate or create Rotary literature in the regional languages
  is the way.

One such effort of unique nature is done tirelessly by Rtn. Dr.
Sudhir Rashingkar, PDG(R I D 3130) in Marathi language in the state
  of Maharashtra,India (Population @ 100 Million) having @ 450 Rotary
clubs and 12000 Rotarians. For past 22+ years, he has taken to
creating or translating voluntarily, Rotary literature in Marathi
and by now there are 25+ publications to his credits. He has made
these available to Rotarians at very nominal prices or some
complimentary and Rotarians from 5 districts of the state as well
as Marathi speaking Rotarians from nearby states and public in
general is benefited due to this. He also has few publications in
  English on Rotary.

He has translated Rotary publications like ABC of Rotary, Getting
acquainted with Rotary, Vocational Service, Rotary Foundation, Club
Service, Reflections in the year of service, Polio Plus, Historical
review of Rotary, Rotary Foundation information and so on. His book -
translation of ABC of Rotary-, with further additions to the
information in original English version of R I , has sold 5 editions
and 6th modified one is coming soon.
