1. Rotary International News
Past RI Director Floyd P. Olson, of Gig Harbor, Washington, USA, died
on 8 August. He served as director of Rotary International from 2001
to 2003.
A member of the Rotary Club of Gig Harbor, Olson also served as
committee chair, district governor, and club president.
Professionally, he was the director of Servpro of Washington State,
an emergency assistance company, for 18 years. He also worked for a
meat packing company for two decades, and was president of Gol-Pak
Corporation for two years before starting his own firm in Washington
in 1978. He was a director of the Peninsula Light Company and served
as a Boy Scout council chair. He was also on the board of directors
of Mary Bridge Children's Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, 11 August at
the Peninsula Lutheran Church, 6509 38th Avenue NW in Gig Harbor,
Washington, USA.
He is survived by his wife Sandra, three sons, two daughters-in-law,
and seven grandchildren. All seven grandchildren are Paul Harris
Fellows of The Rotary Foundation. Condolences may be addressed to the
family at 9912 40th Avenue Ct. NW, Gig Harbor, Washington 98332, USA.

International Foundation or to the Rotary Endowment for the
